Description

Aries S1 is Auralic’s latest entry level audio streamer. Powered by Auralic’s cutting edge Tesla G3 streaming platform, the Aries S1 inherits premium audio technologies from the acclaimed G2.2 reference products, including Direct Memory Access (DMA), Direct Data Recording (DDR), Galvanic Isolation and more.

Flexible Connectivity

Aries S1 features USB, AES, coaxial and optical digital outputs for compatibility with pretty much any DAC. It supports seamless streaming via Ethernet through Auralic’s Lightning DS, Apple AirPlay 2, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect and Internet Radio. Aries S1 is currently undergoing Roon Ready certification.

For the first time in the Aries lineup, this product can process incoming signals from digital or USB inputs. It includes USB, coaxial and optical digital inputs, allowing it to act as a hub for your other digital sources.

Powerful Processing

The Aries S1 has undergone a significant evolution, transitioning from a streaming transport or bridge to a robust streaming processor. With its advanced onboard processing capabilities, Aries S1 now offers a plethora of processing features aimed at optimising the audio signal. These include a high-quality resampler, parametric equaliser, speaker placement compensation and loudness levelling tools.

Leveraging its onboard Tesla G3 platform, the Aries S1 processes the signal, effectively removing jitter and artifacts before applying user-selected processing features to enhance the audio quality. The processed signal is then output via USB, AES, coaxial or optical digital connection, ensuring an enriched listening experience that remains faithful to the original source.

No. The Aries S1 only has wired Ethernet. Wired Ethernet provides the most stable connection to your home network and maximises the available bandwidth.

Do not worry if you are unable to run an Ethernet cable between the Aries S1 and your router. There are lots of potential solutions. You could use an inexpensive wireless bridge to adapt the Aries S1’s Ethernet connection to your existing WiFi network. You could use Powerline adapters or WiFi range extenders with Ethernet ports. Our preferred solution is to install a wireless mesh system. These normally have one or more Ethernet ports on each mesh node to connect wired devices. Mesh systems offer the extra benefit of providing much better WiFi coverage throughout your home.

The Aries S1 comes with a fully functional built-in power supply. The Auralic S1 Purer-Power Supply Unit is an optional upgrade. You can purchase it with your Aries S1 or add it later. It takes the performance of the Aries S1 to the next level with additional storage capacity and regulation stages.

The original Auralic Aries was described as a “streaming bridge”. The Aries G1 and G2 series models adopted the term “streaming transport”. They could stream music from various Internet services and play music stored on internal drives or external NAS or USB drives.

The Aries S1 (and the Aries G3) are described as “streaming processors” for two reasons. Firstly, they do not just stream. They also have multiple digital inputs which can be used to connect other digital sources. Secondly, they have advanced audio processing onboard which can adapt the sound to better suit your room, speaker layout or taste.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years.

Delivery is free on orders over £100. We deliver anywhere in the UK using premium tracked delivery services from DPD Local, UPS, TNT and Royal Mail.
