Graham Audio loudspeakers are for listeners who value music’s natural flow over hi-fi fireworks — faithful to the recording, honest in their presentation.
Designed by Derek Hughes and hand-built in Devon, the range blends BBC classics licensed from the Corporation — including the LS3/5A and LS5/9 — with original Graham Audio designs that apply the same engineering rigour beyond the BBC blueprint. Every model is built with precision components, thin-wall damped cabinets and crossovers developed by ear as well as by measurement.
Iconic designs licensed from the BBC, recreated with modern precision while retaining their original character. Ideal for those seeking studio-grade neutrality and midrange realism.
Loudspeakers that build on Graham Audio’s expertise but venture beyond BBC blueprints, offering greater scale, dynamics and room-filling capability.
Graham Audio’s subwoofers and bass extenders are designed specifically to complement the LS3/5 and LS3/5A — adding low-frequency weight and scale without disturbing the midrange qualities that make these speakers special. The Chartwell Sub 6 is a bass extender designed to double as a stand for the speakers, keeping the system compact and visually integrated while extending bass performance. The SUB3 offers a more conventional subwoofer form factor. The choice depends on your available space and your aesthetic preference — both extend bass performance to a similar degree.
Graham Audio occupies a unique position in loudspeaker design — one that spans both the past and the present. Their BBC-licensed monitors are built to original specifications under licence from the BBC, with drive units and crossovers developed by Derek Hughes, one of the world’s foremost authorities on British monitor design. These are not interpretations or tributes but faithful reproductions of some of the most significant loudspeakers ever made, built with modern materials and manufacturing precision the originals never had access to.
Alongside them sits a growing range of original Graham Audio designs — also by Derek Hughes — that apply the same engineering rigour and commitment to musical honesty to entirely new loudspeakers.
