Measurement Microphones

A measurement microphone is the foundation of any room correction or acoustic measurement setup. Without an accurate mic, even the best correction software is only ever guessing.

The UMIK-1 and UMIK-2 from miniDSP are individually calibrated at the factory, with unique calibration files generated for each microphone. The files compensate for the small manufacturing variances, as well as for microphone orientation, so what Room EQ Wizard (REW) or Dirac Live measures reflects your room, not the quirks of your particular mic.

Both microphones ship ready to use, and are covered by our full manufacturer warranty and UK-based support if you need help interpreting your first set of measurements.

miniDSP UMIK-series measurement microphones

The UMIK-1 is the industry standard for home acoustic measurement. An omnidirectional USB microphone that plugs straight into your computer with no external preamp or audio interface required. It works seamlessly with Room EQ Wizard and Dirac Live.

The UMIK-2 extends the frequency response and dynamic range, making it the better choice if you’re doing speaker design, high-SPL home cinema calibration, or want the extra headroom it provides.
