Description

You’re not just streaming music — you’re listening to it.

The Bluesound Node Icon is for music lovers who care about what they hear and how it makes them feel. This isn’t streaming as background noise — it’s streaming as a serious source component.

Built around a new dual-mono DAC design with upgraded outputs and housed in a sleek aluminium case, the Node Icon offers true hi-fi performance without complexity. Whether you’re streaming from TIDAL, Qobuz or Roon, connecting your TV via HDMI, or driving your favourite headphones, the Node Icon delivers a refined, expressive sound that does justice to your system — and your ears.

A step beyond the ordinary

The Node Icon isn’t just a prettier version of the standard Node. It’s a serious upgrade, inside and out. A redesigned circuit layout, twin ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DACs, balanced XLR outputs and THX AAA headphone amplification combine to produce a lower noise floor, better separation and a more natural, dynamic presentation.

You don’t need a stack of boxes to achieve streaming done properly. The Node Icon gives you Roon readiness, MQA and high-res support, a full-colour display, and seamless control through the BluOS app — all in a compact, beautifully built enclosure that fits effortlessly into your system.

Made to fit your system

Connectivity is where the Node Icon truly shines. With analogue RCA and balanced XLR outputs, coaxial and optical digital outputs, HDMI eARC for your TV, and USB audio out for connection to an external DAC, the Node Icon adapts to whatever you’re running now — and whatever you might upgrade to in future.

Dual-band Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet ensure fast, stable performance, while aptX Adaptive Bluetooth offers low-latency input and output for mobile devices. Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect are all supported natively.

And for those who want to take control of their room acoustics, the Node Icon is compatible with Dirac Live room correction (optional licence required).

Built for people who love music

If you care about tone, texture and timing — if you know what it’s like to be pulled into a performance and forget what time it is — the Node Icon was made for you. It offers honest, high-resolution reproduction in a package that’s as elegant as it is capable. This isn’t streaming for the masses. This is streaming for music lovers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Node Icon really worth the upgrade over the standard Node?

Yes — in every meaningful way. You’re getting dual-mono DACs, balanced XLR outputs, a cleaner power supply, a significantly better headphone stage, and a more substantial chassis with better shielding. If music matters to you, this upgrade isn’t just cosmetic — it’s audible.

Does the Node Icon support gapless playback and high-res streaming?

Yes, the Node Icon supports gapless playback for uninterrupted listening, and it handles high-resolution files up to 24-bit/192kHz. Whether you’re streaming from TIDAL, Qobuz or your own library, the Node Icon delivers full-resolution performance without compromise.

Is it compatible with multi-room audio setups?

Absolutely. The Node Icon runs on BluOS, which allows you to sync multiple Bluesound and BluOS-enabled devices throughout your home. You can group zones, control volume independently, and stream different music to each room — all from a single app.

How does the headphone output compare to a standalone headphone amp?

The built-in THX AAA headphone amplifier is a standout feature. It delivers extremely low noise and distortion, and has enough power to drive most audiophile headphones with ease. For many users, it replaces the need for a separate headphone amp altogether.

Is Dirac Live room correction included?

Dirac Live is supported, but the licence must be purchased separately. The Node Icon supports both Dirac Live LE and the full-bandwidth version, depending on your needs and budget. It’s a powerful tool for improving in-room performance, especially in smaller or untreated spaces.

Can I connect this to my existing DAC?

Absolutely. The Node Icon features coaxial and optical outputs, as well as a USB audio output — a first for Bluesound — allowing you to bypass the internal DAC entirely if you prefer.

What if I need help setting it up?

We’re here to help. Whether you’re setting up Roon, integrating with your TV or experimenting with room correction, we’re here to offer support when you need it. We use this kit ourselves — we don’t just sell it.

What happens if I don’t like it?

If it’s not right for you, simply send it back. We offer a 30-day returns policy so you can buy with confidence and hear it in your own system without pressure. No awkward excuses, no hassle — just straightforward service from people who understand what it means to get these decisions right.

Dirac Live

The Node Icon supports Dirac Live room correction, bringing high-quality digital room correction to your listening space. Dirac Live adjusts your system’s output to suit the unique acoustics of your room, delivering precise timing, enhanced clarity and expert low-frequency management. Dirac Live’s guided setup makes the process of capturing measurements and designing filters easy to follow.

Dirac Live is available in two versions:

  • LE Version: Covers frequencies from 20Hz to 500Hz ($159)
  • Full Bandwidth Version: Covers frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz ($249)

Licenses are available from the Dirac Live website. Dirac also offers an option to upgrade from the LE version to the full version later, if you so choose.

To capture measurements and design room correction filters using Dirac Live, you will also need a measurement microphone. We recommend the miniDSP UMIK-1, which offers plug-and-play USB connectivity and seamless integration with Dirac Live. Each UMIK-1 microphone comes with its own individual calibration files to guarantee accurate measurements.

The Bluesound Node Icon (N530) is more than just a streamer; it’s a gateway to high-resolution audio, bringing the sound of the studio directly into your home with clarity, warmth and fidelity that only Bluesound can provide.
