Edward Audio TT4 Carbon turntable

Following the award winning TT4 and TT4 Carbon, Edwards Audio decided to set about improving its class leading turntable. The result is the new Edwards Audio TT4 SC.

The original TT4 was the first turntable in the Edwards Audio range to use a layered acrylic plinth construction utilising constrained layer damping. There is no cost effective way to better the performance of this cleverly-engineered design, so it remains the basis of the new Edwards Audio TT4 SC.

The new TT4 SC turntable now benefits from an 18 mm brass bearing housing, a ceramic thrust bearing, an acetal hub and a clear acrylic Z type dust cover, and offers a choice of 10 mm or 18 mm machined acrylic platter. Also included is the SC4 speed controller for simple speed selection and fine adjustment.

The TT4 Carbon is further improved over the original by the inclusion of TALK’s A5 uni-pivot tonearm which features a 12 mm carbon fibre armtube and VTA adjustment. This greatly improves the performance of an already exceptionally good sounding turntable.

SC4 Speed Controller

The SC4 speed controller is derived directly from the top-of-the-range SC5 model. It uses exactly the same DSP-based generation and control system, but differs from the SC5 in the use of a single power supply unit for both drive and generation. This small compromise allows Edwards Audio to offer a stunning value-for-money speed controller providing state-of-the-art performance.
