Description
The Graham Audio LS6/f combines the open, uncoloured sound of the popular LS6 stand-mount speakers with a more modern floor-standing form factor. The integrated plinth provides an optimised path for the airflow from the port, reducing distortion at high outputs.
The LS6/f uses the same custom drive units as the stand-mount LS6, but with a revised crossover network using premium quality components. The crossover perfectly integrates the acoustic output from both drive units, while equalising the overall response. A switch is provided on the front panel which adds 1 or 2 dB to the tweeter level. This can help with integration in certain acoustic environments.
In common with all Graham Audio loudspeakers, the LS6/f cabinets use classic BBC-style “thin wall” construction. Mass loading ensures that resonances are moved away from the critical midrange region, while a layer of Rockwool, held in place by fabric, provides air damping.
The cabinets are finished to a very high standard using hand matched veneers. The grille is carefully designed to minimise diffraction effects and is held in place by concealed rare earth magnets.
Graham Audio just released an update to the LS6/f which sees the port move from the base to the bottom of the front panel. The plinth has been removed entirely to create a sleeker overall design. We will update our photos to reflect these changes, as soon as possible. In the meantime, you will find a photo of the updated design here courtesy of StereoNET.
