Jern 11 Standmount Speakers

Ex-demonstration Jern 11 standmount / bookshelf speakers in Nordic Black finish. They are in immaculate condition and are supplied with the grilles and all original packaging. They look and sound superb.

In Danish, Jern means iron. Jern’s speaker cabinets are made from their own special-grade grey cast iron, called Vibrakill. Vibrakill has a very high amount of graphite mixed in the iron, which allows Jern cabinets to dampen vibrations 100 times better than aluminium, and much better than MDF and wood. Iron is also much stronger and heavier. This weight reduces cabinet vibrations further, so you only hear the “good” sound generated by the loudspeaker cones.

There is more to Jern cabinets than just the material. The casting itself is carefully-designed. The interior surface of each cabinet is covered in dimples – imagine an inside-out golf ball – which eliminate parallel surfaces to prevent standing waves.

If you have never heard a pair of Jern speakers then you are in for a real treat. They might look like a pretty lifestyle speaker, but they deliver serious performance.

Please note that the rubber rings shown in the photos are not included. These are an optional extra, useful if you need to cant the speakers at an angle, but not strictly required as the speakers have a flat base.
