Graham Audio LS6 Standmount Speakers

Designed by Derek Hughes, the LS6 is a two-way standmount loudspeaker built around a custom 6.5″ long-throw mid/bass driver mated to a compact 17-litre cabinet, giving genuine bass extension and power handling without a corresponding jump in cabinet size.

The bespoke 19 mm dome tweeter extends beyond 20 kHz, and a rear-mounted port delivers effortless bass while keeping the cabinet small enough to sit comfortably in most rooms.

A sophisticated crossover network blends the two units and equalises the overall response for optimum performance in free space. A switch on the front baffle adjusts the tweeter level by +1dB or +2dB – useful where the listening position sits off axis.

In common with all Graham Audio loudspeakers, the LS6 uses the classic BBC-style “thin wall” construction, where the panels are mass-loaded to move resonances away from the critical mid-range region, and a layer of Rockwool held in place by fabric provides air damping. Hand-matched veneers are finished to a high standard, and the grille – designed to minimise diffraction effects – is held in place by concealed rare-earth magnets.

A floorstanding version of the LS6 is also available, as the Graham Audio LS6/f.
