About the Helium 520C
The Amphion Helium 520C is a horizontal centre channel built to sit above or below a screen without compromising the front-stage coherence of a Helium system. Its MTM (tweeter between two woofers) layout is specifically designed for this orientation, keeping dispersion even side to side rather than the vertical spread of a stand-mount speaker turned on its side.
It shares its acoustic components with the rest of the Helium range, including the fifth-generation UDD waveguide, so dialogue and effects panning across the front three channels sound like they’re coming from a single, continuous source rather than three mismatched boxes. The low crossover point keeps the handover between tweeter and woofers out of the vocal range, which is where mismatched centre channels usually give themselves away.
Despite the compact, low-profile cabinet, the vented design still delivers real extension rather than a thin, boxed-in midrange – useful for a centre channel, which tends to carry the bulk of a film’s dialogue and midrange energy. Like the rest of the Helium series, it’s hand-built in Finland.
Pair it with a pair of Helium 510, 520 or 720 for a matched three-channel front stage, or use it as a dedicated dialogue channel in an existing system that needs clearer speech without adding a mismatched voicing to the mix.
