About the Hegel H20
For listeners who want to feel every note – not just hear it
The Hegel H20 is for people who don’t just collect hi-fi – they listen. It’s built for long-term satisfaction, not fleeting excitement. If you’ve reached the point where the music matters more than the gear, this is the kind of amplifier you can settle into.
Power without the posturing
With 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and huge current reserves, the H20 delivers music with authority – not aggression. It keeps control in the trickiest passages, energises your speakers without bloating them, and handles dynamics with natural ease.
Its dual-mono architecture and patented SoundEngine design minimise distortion and sharpen timing, giving you a clean, coherent soundstage that’s rich with subtlety and life.
The H20 is just as happy cruising through a late-night playlist as it is powering a full symphony at concert levels. It doesn’t try to impress – it just reveals what’s already in the music.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. It was designed to work with a matching Hegel preamplifier like the P20 or P30A, where voicing and gain are carefully aligned, but it will work with any RCA or XLR-equipped preamp.
The H30A is the ultimate, especially if you have a pair of them running in mono mode. But the H20 captures the spirit – refinement, depth, control – at a far lower cost. If your system doesn’t need the full weight of the H30A, the H20 might be the sweet spot.
Almost certainly. It’s stable into 2 ohms, with loads of current and a high damping factor. If you’re not sure, ask – we’ve probably tried your speakers already.
Yes. We have a 30-day return policy, so you can try the H20 in your own system. We also offer demo sessions at our facility near Manchester.
