DC Blocking

Have you ever experienced a mechanical hum from the transformer in your amplifier or power supply? Sometimes the hum is caused by a bad transformer. Most of the time it is caused by DC current contaminating the AC supply. This problem is becoming more and more common, in large part due to the widespread adoption of LED lighting. The toroidal transformers used in hi-fi components are particularly susceptible to this problem. The PS106-DC includes Puritan Audio Lab’s DC blocking technology, which completely eliminates this hum by removing the DC contamination.

C19 Mains Cable

PS106 and PS106-DC strip purifiers come with a 2m Puritan Audio Labs Classic mains cable as standard, terminated with a 16A C19 connector and a UK 3-pin plug. You can optionally upgrade this to a Classic Plus or Ultimate mains cable.
