The A200 shares its amplifier platform with the H200 – the two are built around the same 150W stage, one fully analogue, one with streaming and DAC built in.

Built on the same control
Stability down to 2-ohm loads and a damping factor of over 4,000 give the A200 firm control over demanding speaker loads – bass starts and stops with precision rather than blurring into the next note, and that control carries through the rest of the presentation.
Every input is analogue
Two balanced XLR inputs and two unbalanced RCA inputs cover high-quality external sources, with a fixed RCA output for a recorder or second system and a variable RCA output for a subwoofer or external power amp under the A200’s volume control. A high-quality headphone output is built in for private listening.
A phono stage worth using
Like the H200, the A200 includes a dedicated MM phono input based on the MM section of Hegel’s standalone V10 phono stage – hand-matched FET gain stages and carefully selected op-amps. In a fully analogue amplifier built around source flexibility, vinyl playback gets treated properly rather than as an afterthought.
Made to live with
Each input can be assigned a fixed volume level for home cinema integration, and the A200 can learn volume commands from a TV remote – useful if an external DAC or AV receiver is already part of the system and you want everyday control to work the way it always has. Startup and maximum volume limits prevent surprises, and display dimming is fully customisable.
