About the Dynavector XX-2A
The Dynavector XX-2A moving coil cartridge represents a significant evolution in analogue playback, delivering exceptional clarity, detail and musicality. Building on the XX-2 MkII, its immediate predecessor, the XX-2A incorporates Dynavector’s Special Annealing Magnetic Circuit, refining the physical properties of its Alnico magnet assembly to strengthen and stabilise the magnetic field, reducing distortion and improving signal purity for a more dynamic, lifelike sound.
At the heart of the XX-2A is a rigid boron cantilever paired with a Pathfinder line contact stylus, for accurate groove tracing and detail retrieval. A wide frequency response and low distortion make it suited to anyone chasing genuinely high-fidelity vinyl playback.
A rigidly mounted magnetic circuit
Stainless steel bolts hold the front and rear yokes and magnet rigidly in place, so their relative position – and the air gap between them – doesn’t shift under vibration. Tightening torque is adjusted by hand during assembly, a step that has a direct bearing on sound quality and is checked on every individual unit.
