About the Amphion Argon 7LS
Amphion’s acoustic design and unique crossover implementation have proven their value in some of the finest recording, mixing, mastering and post-production facilities around the world. The Amphion Argon 7LS loudspeaker uses very similar technologies, fine-tuned for home use, which make it the perfect choice for those who want to experience their recordings as the producer and artist intended.
Argon 7LS is the largest model in Amphion’s Argon family of high-end home audio speakers. It follows the trend of employing design and technologies from Amphion’s professional studio monitor line. This approach provides extremely natural, transparent, and precise sound reproduction with deep emotional impact. Argon 7LS floorstanders deliver an exceptionally precise imaging and wide sweet spot, keeping the sound well-balanced even when you move around the room.
Radiators not ports
Argon 7LS features passive radiators to increase efficiency, instead of a reflex port. This design is also used in Amphion’s studio monitors, as well as the Argon 3S and Argon 3LS home speakers. Passive radiators eliminate the problems associated with ported bass reflex designs, where the correct signal is always followed by an unwanted tail. This design creates a more natural energy transfer, providing the listener with an improved physical connection to the music, even at lower listening levels.
Unique crossover design
Like all Amphion loudspeakers, Argon 7LS uses the company’s unconventional approach to crossover design. The crossover is placed at 1,600 Hz, a frequency which is outside of the most sensitive human hearing range. By using the tweeter over a wider range of frequencies, supported by the acoustic amplification provided by the waveguide, the speakers perform as point sources. In other words, they behave more like a real instrument or human voice. Amphion’s approach also neatly avoids the problems common to coaxial and dual concentric designs, where the tweeter is housed in the moving “waveguide” (the woofer). Amphion’s carefully designed waveguide creates a broad and even dispersion, allowing you to immerse yourself in a room-wide sweet spot.
Custom Coloured Grilles
Amphion Argon series speakers are available in a range of beautiful finishes, including an option with custom-coloured grilles. Choose any colour you like from RAL’s extensive palette.

Frequently Asked Questions
Despite their size, the 7LS are surprisingly room-friendly. Their controlled dispersion and passive radiator design minimise boom and make placement flexible – even in smaller spaces.
Yes. The 7LS retain tonal balance and detail even when played quietly, making them ideal for late night listening, background music or shared spaces.
No. While they definitely keep up with premium electronics, their easy load and good sensitivity mean they perform well with a wide range of integrated amps and separates.
We offer setup advice to help you get the best from them. And if you’re still not happy, we have a 30-day returns policy – no fuss, no pressure.
You get more bass extension, scale and authority than with the other Argon models – without losing Amphion’s signature speed, imaging and balance. They’re perfect if you want a bigger, more full-range sound, but can’t quite stretch to the Krypton 3X.
